MESSIAH TO BE BORN IN BETHLEHEM...TRUTH...OR SUN-MYTH RETOLD?

The New Testament indicated that we have the birth of the "Christ child" at Bethlehem and visited by Wise Men with Gifts. We have already dealt with the stories of the Wise men and their gifts.

Mat 2:1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Mat 2:2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

Luke 2:7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

The New Testament records that the "Christ-child", the culmination of the Sun-god-men, was prophesied to be Born in Bethlehem, because this word (Bethlehem) means House of Bread or Harvest, which accurately serves to represent the Astrological sign (house) of Virgo (a woman holding a stalk of wheat). Let us examine the definition from a Funk and Wagnalls encyclopedia:

"BETHLEHEM (Heb. and Aram., "house of bread;" Arab. Bayt Lahm, "house of meat"), town, West Bank, near Jerusalem. Originally called Aphrath, the town also is referred to as Bethlehem-Judah to distinguish it from another Bethlehem (see Josh. 19:15-16) in the territory of the tribe of Zebulon. Bethlehem is first mentioned in the Old Testament as the place where Rachel, the wife of the patriarch Jacob, was buried (see Gen. 35:19). In the Book of Ruth, it is mentioned as the home of King David's ancestors and of David himself (see 1 Sam. 17:12) and, in the Book of Micah, as the birthplace of the future Messiah (see Mic. 5:2).With the exception of St. Mark, the earliest Gospel writer, the authors of the Gospels claim Bethlehem as the birthplace of Jesus Christ and, as such, it has been regarded by Christians as a holy place. Bethlehem contains one of the oldest churches in the world, the Church of the Nativity, built by the Roman Emperor Constantine the Great in 330 on the traditional site of Christ's birth."

MESSIAH TO BE BORN IN BETHLEHEM......WHAT DID MICAH REALLY SAY?

What is strange upon serious investigation is that the prophecy from Micah does not say the Messiah will be born in Bethlehem at all. The designation of Bethlehem as the birth place of the Messiah has more to do with the constellation Virgo which has been characterized by the ancients as being represented as a Virgin holding a stalk of wheat. But traditions are often taught and preached instead of truth.
